Shakespeare in Theater
There is evidence that Shakespeare earned a living as a playwright and actor in London. Many documents show that he was a managing managing partner in an acting company there, the Lord Chamberlain's Men. The company's name was changed to the King's Men after the crowning of King James the I in 1603, according to biography.com. Records show that Shakespeare had works published and sold, which became very popular. The high class people did not highly admire the culture of theater, whereas the noble were friends of the actors and fans on the performing arts. |
